shooting a music video, any tips?

I'm planning to shoot a pop promo for a metal band and I was wondering if anyone had any tips at all in the production (pre/post) of making a cool vid.

First, to save on film shoot on pro-8 mm. film. I recommend the 8/74 Vision stock. It's rated @ 200 ASA and you can shoot and manipulate your color temps beautifully and it'll give you a moody feel if shot indoors with one light of about 1000W. Second, get the playback music on a cd. This way the music will be at a consistent speed all the way from production to post. Third, shoot all your B-roll or cutaways first, Get very creative with this, 'cause performance shots are very easy. Get three different performances from the lead singer, in CU, WS and the safety take. The rest is pretty easy. Good luck!!!!
